Critique No definition has been proposed. Nessov and Kaznyshkina (1989) proposed splitting Protoceratopsidae into two subfamilies, Asiaceratopsinae and Protoceratopsinae. This subdivision has not been followed by subsequent authors, as Asiaceratops is a poorly known, if valid, taxon.
